Die Mine<\/p>\n

Die wundersch\u00f6ne Mine S\u00e3o Domingos ist eine verlassene Tagebaumine im Alentejo, die einst von Mason und Barry, einer britischen Firma, erkundet wurde, die mitten in diesem verlassenen Land ein kleines Dorf gr\u00fcndete.<\/p>\n

Aufgrund der Mineralien im Boden zeigen die Fl\u00fcsse und flachen Seen alle Farben des Regenbogens, von sandigen Rot- und Gelbt\u00f6nen \u00fcber Trauben- und Auberginenviolett bis hin zu Salbeigr\u00fcn. Das dunkelschwarze Wasser gl\u00e4nzt mit einem Hauch von Kupfer unter dem weiten Himmel des Alentejan.<\/p>\n

Diese Fundstelle ist eine der vulkanogenen Massivsulfiderzlagerst\u00e4tten im Iberischen Pyritg\u00fcrtel, der sich von S\u00fcdportugal bis nach Spanien erstreckt.<\/p>\n

\"Naturschutzgebiet

Der Naturpark Guadiana Valley windet sich durch Fl\u00fcsse aus Gold und Silber<\/p><\/div>\n

1854 begannen Mason und Barry, Kupfer, Schwefel und Pyrit zu f\u00f6rdern und bis 1966 nach England und dar\u00fcber hinaus zu transportieren. W\u00e4hrend der 107 Jahre, in denen die Mine in S\u00e3o Domingos aktiv war, war sie zeitweise eine der gr\u00f6\u00dften in Europa in Bezug auf die Produktion und die Zahl der Besch\u00e4ftigten, und auf dem H\u00f6hepunkt waren 16.000 Menschen mit der Mine verbunden.<\/p>\n

Im Bergbaudorf baute das Unternehmen eine Kirche, eine Schule, ein Theater, das erste Elektrizit\u00e4tswerk der Provinz und die erste Telefonzentrale. Es gibt auch einen englischen Friedhof, auf dem Minenmanager und ihre Familien, viele aus Cornwall, begraben sind.<\/p>\n

Seit der Schlie\u00dfung zieht die Mine Touristen an. Der alte Hauptsitz der Bergbaugesellschaft wurde zu einem Luxushotel umgebaut, in dem wir f\u00fcr diese Tour \u00fcbernachten.<\/p>\n

Mina de S\u00e3o Domingos liegt 180 Kilometer s\u00fcd\u00f6stlich von Lissabon, nahe der spanischen Grenze, wo die weite, h\u00fcgelige Landschaft ein wunderbares \u201eWilder Westen\u201c-Feeling hat.
\nAm Rande des Schutzgebietes \u201eParque Natural do Vale do Guadiana\u201c gelegen, teilweise sogar darin, \u00fcberrascht die Landschaft immer wieder mit ihrem Reichtum an seltenen Vogelarten (zB Eisv\u00f6gel, Wiedehopfe, Milane, Adler, etc.). der sehr schwer fassbare gro\u00dfe Buster).<\/p>\n

Die Seen sind voller Fische und so sauber, dass sogar Schildkr\u00f6ten sie aufnehmen. Das Tal der Guadiana ist ein Gebiet von nat\u00fcrlicher Sch\u00f6nheit, das bisher kaum frequentiert wurde und mit der Mosel in ihrer Entfaltung vergleichbar ist.<\/p>\n

Die Landschaft ist von atemberaubender Erhabenheit, ihr Horizont scheint immer unendlich zu sein und im Fr\u00fchling blenden die farbenfrohen Wildblumen die Augen.<\/p>\n
