L&#039;eau noire et sombre brille d&#039;un soup\u00e7on de cuivre sous le vaste ciel alentejan.<\/p>\n<p>Ce site est l&#039;un des gisements de sulfures massifs volcanog\u00e8nes de la ceinture de pyrite ib\u00e9rique, qui s&#039;\u00e9tend du sud du Portugal \u00e0 l&#039;Espagne.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2845\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2845\" class=\"wp-image-2845 size-large\" title=\"Parc naturel de Guadiana Vallley, rivi\u00e8res sinueuses d&#039;or et d&#039;argent\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/legendatours.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Guadiana_Vallley_Natural_Park-1024x604.jpg?resize=1024%2C604&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Aire prot\u00e9g\u00e9e du parc naturel de la vall\u00e9e du Guadiana\" width=\"1024\" height=\"604\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-2845\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Parc naturel de la vall\u00e9e du Guadiana, rivi\u00e8res sinueuses d&#039;or et d&#039;argent<\/p><\/div>\n<p>En 1854, Mason et Barry ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 extraire du cuivre, du soufre et de la pyrite et \u00e0 les transporter en Angleterre et au-del\u00e0, jusqu&#039;en 1966. Parfois, au cours des 107 ann\u00e9es d&#039;activit\u00e9 de la mine de S\u00e3o Domingos, c&#039;\u00e9tait l&#039;une des plus grandes d&#039;Europe en en termes de production et de nombre d&#039;employ\u00e9s, et, \u00e0 son apog\u00e9e, 16 000 personnes \u00e9taient associ\u00e9es \u00e0 la mine.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le village minier, l&#039;entreprise a construit une \u00e9glise, une \u00e9cole, un th\u00e9\u00e2tre, la premi\u00e8re centrale \u00e9lectrique de la province et le premier central t\u00e9l\u00e9phonique. Il y a aussi un cimeti\u00e8re anglais, o\u00f9 sont enterr\u00e9s les directeurs de la mine et leurs familles, dont beaucoup de Cornwall.<\/p>\n<p>Depuis la fermeture, la mine attire les touristes. La vall\u00e9e du Guadiana est une r\u00e9gion d&#039;une beaut\u00e9 naturelle encore peu fr\u00e9quent\u00e9e, comparable \u00e0 la Moselle dans son d\u00e9roulement.<\/p>\n<p>Le paysage est d&#039;une grandeur \u00e0 couper le souffle, ses horizons semblant toujours infinis et, au printemps, l&#039;abondance de fleurs sauvages color\u00e9es \u00e9blouit les yeux.<\/p>\n<p>Il s&#039;agit d&#039;une visite con\u00e7ue pour vivre presque un voyage dans le temps et pour profiter de vues \u00e9poustouflantes.
