Zijn volgelingen droegen vervolgens zijn lichaam naar de kust, waar een schip op wonderbaarlijke wijze wachtte om de overblijfselen naar het noordwesten van Spanje te brengen. De exacte locatie van het graf is in de geschiedenis verloren gegaan. Door een visioen, honderden jaren later, kon een Spaanse kluizenaar de weg wijzen naar het graf uit de Romeinse tijd en werd ter plaatse een kerk gebouwd. De route loopt door Viana do Castelo, Caminha, Baiona, Pontevedra, Caldas Dos Reis en Padron, om te eindigen op het plein van Obradoiro en de kolossale barokke kathedraal waar de overblijfselen van de apostel Santiago liggen.<\/p>\n<p>De Portugese Atlantische Weg is ongeveer 241 km. We zullen de beste secties selecteren voor uw plezier.<\/p>\n<p>Sommige mensen gebruiken deze week als een introductie tot de Caminho.
