Sightseeing in Lisbon – Bica elevator tram, Introduced in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, trams, funiculars, and lift help make Lisbon’s hills a little more manageable.
Marking every spot in the city with a touch of tradition, Lisbon is all about preserving the beauty of ‘old’, whether embodied by friendly flower sellers and chestnut vendors on the streets, its majestic azulejo adorned architecture and typical pastry shops, or charming, tavern-inspired restaurants.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Lisbon
On arrival at Lisbon Airport, we will have a private coach transfer to our centrally located hotel. Depending on our arrival time, we’ll have an orientation walk before dinner at a restaurant close to our hotel.

Sightseeing in Lisbon – Bica elevator tram. The Ascensor da Bica tram runs through Rua da Bica de Duarte Belo and is, together with the Ascensor da Gloria, a popular place for tourists to take a nice picture with the yellow tram.
Day 2 – Bairro Alto and Praça do Comércio
This morning we discover the Bairro Alto district on foot, with our guide, walking through this ancient quarter & enjoying the sights down to the Praça do Comércio. After some free time for lunch, we may visit Lisbon’s botanical gardens, a tranquil spot in the city.

Optional dinner program – can be booked directly with the guide. On a traditional Portuguese restaurant where we may enjoy our delicious Portuguese meal whilst listening to a live Fado performance. The show finishes late, but you may return to your hotel at your leisure.

Day 3 – Jerónimos – Belém
Today is dedicated to Portugal’s seafaring past – and to the discoveries of the New World. We reach the Monument the Belém Tower, the gateway to the new world. Continuing with the Discovery theme, we walk up to the Discovery monument and the Jeronimos monastery which you can visit if you wish.
In the afternoon we visit the Maritime Museum. If you prefer, you can visit Jeronimos Monastery, the Planetarium, or the Aquarium this afternoon instead of the Maritime Museum. Your group leader will be able to give you information on the visits and the entrance costs.
Free time for dinner. Not included.
Pasteis de Nata, ex-libris of Lisbon. The most famous dessert in Lisbon is the traditional Pastel de Nata (custard tart)
Day 4 – Departure
Transfer from hotel to Airport.
